Redact PDFs for legal work — without uploading them
Permanently remove privileged names, figures and clauses from a PDF — entirely in your browser. The document never leaves your device, so nothing is exposed to a third-party server.

Why legal teams use it
Nothing is uploaded
Privileged documents stay on your machine — there is no server to send them to.
True redaction
The underlying text is removed from the file, not hidden under a black box that can be copied out.
No account, no trail
No sign-up, no cloud storage, no audit risk from a third-party service.
Why uploading a privileged document is a risk
Discovery files, settlement drafts, client contracts and exhibits often contain names, account numbers and privileged passages that must be removed before sharing. Most online redaction tools upload the whole document to their server first — which can breach client confidentiality and your duty of care before a single word is redacted. pdfnoupload removes the data in your browser, so the file never reaches anyone else's infrastructure.
Redaction that actually holds up
The classic redaction failure is a black rectangle drawn on top of text that is still in the file — anyone can copy it out or strip the layer. This tool uses MuPDF to delete the underlying text and image content inside each marked area, then draws the black bar. You can also auto-detect emails, phone numbers, card and ID numbers and redact them in one pass. The result is a clean PDF you can disclose with confidence.
Frequently asked questions
Is the document uploaded anywhere?+
No. Redaction runs entirely in your browser; you can confirm zero upload requests in DevTools → Network.
Is this real redaction or just a black box?+
Real redaction — the text and image content inside the marked area is removed from the file, not merely covered.
Can it find sensitive data automatically?+
Yes. It can scan for emails, phone numbers, credit-card numbers and ID numbers and mark them for redaction.
Does it work for large discovery files?+
It works on a per-document basis in your browser; very large files depend on your device's memory, but nothing is ever sent off-device.
