pdfnoupload is a privacy-first PDF toolbox that runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded — there is simply no server to send them to. Here's why it exists, how it works, and how it stays free.
The problem we set out to fix
Almost every 'free online PDF tool' works the same way: you upload your document to a stranger's server, it's processed there, and you download the result. For a meme that's fine. For a contract, a payslip, a medical form or an ID scan, it means handing a copy of a private document to a company you know nothing about — one that may log it, keep it longer than promised, or feed it to something else. We didn't want to trust a privacy promise. We wanted the upload to be impossible.
How pdfnoupload is different
Every tool here runs locally in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. When you open a PDF it's read into your browser's memory and processed on your own device; the finished file is generated locally and downloaded straight to you. Nothing is transmitted, because there's no upload endpoint in the first place. You don't have to take our word for it — open your browser's DevTools, watch the Network tab while you work, and you'll see zero upload requests. We even built a live monitor into every tool that counts them for you.

There's nothing to sign up for. We don't ask for an email, we don't stamp watermarks on your files, and we don't lock features behind a 'pro' wall to harvest your details. Open a tool, get your file, leave. Once a page has loaded, most tools keep working even if you go offline.
How it stays free
Running the site costs very little because the heavy lifting happens on your device, not on our servers. We cover hosting with unobtrusive ads. We don't sell, share or monetise your documents or personal data — we can't, because your files never reach us. That isn't a policy we promise to follow; it's a consequence of how the site is built.
Who's behind it
pdfnoupload is an independent project, built and maintained by a small team that cares about privacy by design. It isn't owned by a big PDF company and it isn't trying to upsell you into one. If a tool here is useful to you, the best thanks is to tell someone who needs it.
